| The TKO Academy Juniors program is the first step in the development of a young player's abilities. The program is open to all U7 and U8 boys and girls, and is designed to develop their skills and confidence with the ball, as well as to encourage a love for the game.
Training sessions emphasize individual skills by utilizing small-sided games to provide each player with more touches on the ball and the freedom to develop at their own pace.
This program will prepare players for league play at the U9 level by giving them both the skill and the confidence to excel in real games.
Eligible Players:
All U7 and U8 boys and girls
No tryout - everyone is welcome
Academy Juniors Goals:
Develop individual players' skills
Instill a love for playing the game
Have fun
Training:
One 1-hour session per week, for six weeks in the fall and spring
Focus will be on developing players' skill and making them comfortable with the ball
All sessions run by TKO Academy Director or licensed TKO staff coaches
Practices held next to Portage North Middle School and Curious Kids Day Care on Milham Rd in Portage
Tuesdays starting September 1st for the fall, Spring dates TBD
Friendly mini-games:
Multiple events set up with other local clubs' programs to play non-competitive, small-sided games (4v4)
Dates TBD by WMYSA
Winter:
Optional indoor league play at SoccerZone
Cost:
$100 for both the fall & spring seasons, or $60 for a single season
