TKO Girls Make Super Y-League All Tournament Team Two more TKO Premier '92 Girls players were honored recently by being chosen to the prestigious Y-League All-Tournament Team for the 2007 USL Y-League National Finals in Tampa, Florida. Shelby Humphries (Portage Central, TKO '92) and Megan Putnam (Kalamazoo Hackett, TKO '92) were both chosen to the All-Tourney Team and have the option of attending the USL National ODP Camp in February. The TKO '92 girls, 2007 State Cup Semifinalists and 2007 MSPSL Division 1 Champs, teamed up with the West Michigan Fire Juniors this past summer. By winning the Midwest Division, the team qualified for the national tourney in November. Shelby and Megan both notched game-winning goals in Florida and were key members of the team that posted a 3-1 record at the tournament. Megan and Shelby will join fellow TKO '92's Anna Stinson and Taylor Callen at the USL National ODP Camp. Coach Todd Wells says, "This is a fantastic honor for Shelby and Megan - both young ladies played outstanding soccer in Florida. These girls deserve the recognition and the opportunity for further training at the USL National ODP Camp in February."

 TKO Girls Win U16 Premier 1 The U-16 girls won the Premier I league with a record of 8-0-1. With 25 goals scored and 4 against (also the best record in the league for the age group with the most goals and fewest scored against). The team is comprised of girls from Battle Creek Lakeview (3), East Kentwood (1), Gull Lake (1), Kalamazoo Christian(1), Kalamazoo Hackett (1), Mattawan (2), Portage Central (5) and Portage Northern (3). Great job girls!

 TKO U9 Girls Win the River City Fall Classic Congratulations to the TKO U9 Academy team on their championship in the River City Classic. The girls went 2-0-1 in pool play by defeated the WAZA FC Green 5-0, the Brighton Eclipse 2-1, and tied the Brighton Eclipse Green 0-0. In the championship game, the girls beat the Brighton Eclipse Green 4-2. Great job girls!

 TKO U11 Boys Win the Gold Division of the Capital Area Classic Congratulations to the TKO U11 Academy team on their championship in the Capital Area Classic U11 Gold Division. The boys went 3-0 in pool play by defeating the East Lansing Grevistas 5-0, the Dewitt Lightning 2-1, and the OSC Scorpions 1-0. In the championship game, the boys beat the Portage Lightning - Green 2-1. Great job boys!

TKO U15 Girls Join Forces with the West Michigan Fire Super Y Team Congratulations to the TKO players that joined forces with Grand Rapids area players to form the U15 West Michigan Fire Juniors team that won the Midwest Division of the Super Y-League. The team formed to play matches from late June to early August. By winning the division, the team earned the top Midwest bid to play in the United Soccer League North American Youth Championship in Tampa, Florida from November 15Th-20Th. WMFJ competed against teams from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Canada and had a record of 8-2. Area TKO players include: Lauren Brown, Natalie Hall, Shelby Humphries, Anna Stinson, Cassie VanderSloot, and Sarah Wilsey (all of Portage), Taylor Callen (Mattawan), Nicole Bentz and Grace Labrecque (Battle Creek). The team is coached by Dan Raben (Lansing) and TKO Coach Todd Wells (Battle Creek).
The Super Y-League North American Finals, regarded as the top youth soccer event in North America, is a five-day tournament that includes over 130 of the best youth soccer teams in the US and Canada from U13 to U17 for boys and girls. Teams will qualify from their respective regions and will face the best from around North America in a quest to become league champions.
Thursday, August 30 TKO PREMIER SOCCER CLUB NAMES PDL COACHThe TKO Premier Soccer Club completed its USL coaching roster by announcing that it has reached an agreement with Stu Riddle to be the Head Coach of its Premier Development League team. In 2006 Riddle began his coaching career in United Soccer Leagues when he accepted a player-coach position with the Kalamazoo Kingdom, formerly of the PDL, an elite development league. Thursday, August 30 TKO PREMIER SOCCER CLUB SHOWS WELL AT MICHIGAN STATE OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM TRYOUTS In early August over 1200 kids participated in the Olympic Development program try outs for the state of Michigan. TKO Premier Soccer Club was well represented with 9 players earning some ODP honors. The players selected here go into a state pool of players (usually around 30-35 players), which, will train together during the winter months with the state coach. From that training, a state team will be selected (18 players), which will train and play in the USYSA Region II camp/tournament. A pool of players are than selected from all state teams and held over for another camp to train. After the region team is selected, they travel to the national camp where the national teams are selected.

Thursday, August 2 THE KALAMAZOO OUTRAGE TO TAKE THE FIELD IN THE SUMMER OF 2008
The TKO Premier Soccer Club would like to officially announce the name of its PDL and W-League franchise. The Kalamazoo Outrage will take the field in the summer of 2008. The Kalamazoo Outrage name was one of two finalistthat were selected from over 100 entries to the "Name the PDL and W-League Contest that was held last spring. A vote was held on the TKO Premier Soccer website, and The Kalamazoo Outrage received the most votes. The winning name was submitted by 14-year old Alyssa Davison of Mattawan.

 KISS Champions - TKO Premier U15 Girls The TKO Premier U15 girls took home the hardware at the KISS Tournament. Todd Wells' team went 2-1 in pool play, and then beat the Crystal Lake Force Blue (IL) 3-2 in the championship game. Great job girls!
This will be a team to watch in the fall.
TKO Premier Soccer Club Names W-League Head Coach The TKO Premier Soccer Club has named Tony DiTucci as head coach of its W-League franchise. Mr. DiTucci is currently in the 3rd year as the head coach of the Central Michigan University women’s soccer program. A native of Rochester, New York, DiTucci graduated from Saint John Fisher College summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science in 1996. DiTucci holds an Advanced National coaching diploma from the NSCAA as well as a USSF C license. He is also a member of both the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the United States Soccer Federation.
Saturday, June 2 Introducing the NEW TKO Premier Academy Click on the above link to read more about this exciting new program from the TKO Premier Soccer Club. This academy style training is the latest national trend in the development of younger soccer players. The U9 - U11 players will be coached by a TKO premier coach, and play their games in WMYSA. The Academy Director will hold weekly technical (skill) training in a pool environment. The best Part about the program is that is only cost $300/year plus uniform.

Friday, May 11 U17 Boys - White makes it to the State Cup quarter finals!
The TKO U17 - White have made it to the quarter finals of the State Cup. The scores of the preliminary round were as follws:
Beat GRASA 4-3
Lost to TNT 2-0
Beat Farmington 4-0
The team earned a wild-card spot based on goal differential.
They will play last years champion Vardarstars in Saginaw on May 19th at noon.

Friday, April 20th TKO Announces the 2007-08 Tryout Schedule TKO Premier Soccer Club will hold its annual tryouts for the Fall 2007/Spring 2008 season on Friday June 15, 2007 (U13-U18) and June 18, 2007 (U9-U12) at the Kalamazoo Community Soccer Complex on Drake Road.

Tuesday, April 3 TKO Teams Excel at the PRF Cup in Cincinnati
TKO had three teams competing in the PRF Cup in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 24th and 25th.
The U12 boys coached by Rich Labadie won the U12 Gold Division by defeating the Metro FC Rapids 2-1, Hoosier FC Orange 6-0, Northern Kentucky 1-0, and WAZA (Canton Michigan) 2-1 in the championship game. Congratulations to Rich, Kevin, and the team.
The U16 boys coached by Jake Gillingerten made it to the finals of the U16 Gold Division. They defeated the Georgetown Rangers 3-0, tied the Ohio Galaxies FC Elite 1-1, tied SCS Nemesis 0-0, and lost to PSC 1-0 on an own goal. Congratulations to Jake, Ernesto, and the team.
The U14 girls coached by Rich Labadie started off 2-0 before dropping their third game. They defeated the Norwood SC Stingrays 7-0, the Classic Hammer Royal 2-1, but lost to the Hoosier FC Heat 2-0 in what coach Labadie said was "the best they played all weekend. They just couldn't find the back of the net". Great job girls.
